3 months, Oktoberfest, Mike's Birthday and other fun stuff

We are all doing really well out here in Philo, the center of the universe according to some. The Chinese, however, also claim to be the center of the universe. If it comes to a battle, I think I'll bet on China. Anyway, Daniel is doing well with his work, learning a lot about Java and other things that I won't even attempt to explain. I am having so much fun being a stay-at-home mommy. Yes, it is a LOT of work, but it is so wonderful to be with my girls, getting to play, learn, and laugh with them and watch them grow. I even did a Thanksgiving craft with them! I felt like such a Mommy.

Analise is learning and developing so quickly these days. She knows her alphabet and her numbers up to 14, she is starting to recognize some of her letters and know their sounds, she loves to sing, has several Bible verses memorized, loves to jump and climb stairs, and smother her baby sister with love. She is two, however, which means a lot of power struggles, but most of the time I stay strong! She often tries to negotiate on discipline ("Little spankin'" or "no spankin', time out"). She puts together fairly complex sentences and keeps us laughing most of the time with her comments and antics. She is learning more about God and can tell you that "God loves Analise" and "God takes care of Analise" and that "God made Analise". It is one of the sweetest things in the world to hear her pray un-prodded.

Natalie is also developing so quickly. Her head and neck are getting really stable; she is able to sit in her Bumbo seat now. She is starting to reach and grab for things...watch out at the table! She loves to suck on her fingers or anything else she is holding. She is a fairly solemn baby...she makes us work for her smiles, but Daddy can usually get a big, open-mouthed, toothless grin and she almost always gives a big smile every time Mommy sings to her. We started sleep-training (our pediatricians code for "we're gonna make her cry at night instead of rocking her back to sleep"!) last week and she is doing really well. She even slept all night last night, although I'm not holding my breath.

Both girls are just beautiful and delightful. God has given us so much. I know I'm behind on pictures...I'm writing this in December and these pictures are from October and early November, but I'll get caught up soon! On to the main event:

One of our trips to Curtis Orchard this year.

Analise LOVES pony rides!!! And HATES getting off again.

Feeding the goats.

Natalie's first shots at her 2 month appointment. Poor baby!
At the Pumpkin Patch near our home.

Still one of our favorite pastimes.
In honor and celebration of Aunt Kristina.
Halloween!! The cutest lamb and ladybug you've ever seen.

Analise took 2-yr old gymnastics this fall. Again, one of the cutest things I've seen! We hope to do it again in the Spring.
A quick trip to Allerton Park to meet my parents.
Oktoberfest at Dan and Marnie's!
Analise did a fabulous job painting her pumpkin. She was very serious about the whole thing. A future artist?

The finished products. From the left: Marnie, Dan, Daniel, Analise, Elizabeth. Dad just took pictures.
We headed over to Bloomington in early November to celebrate Mike's birthday. It was a really good time of just hanging out and laughing together. Something that Mike and Kristina don't get all that often these days. Please keep praying for them.

Not. Happy.
You have NO idea how long and how many pictures it took to get a good shot of this, between the 2-yr old, the 3-month old and the brother who can't keep his eyes open...

Sweet little tiger cub.

Cousins!

Yeah, sorry 'bout that...I couldn't make it go away. I really did try. It was like a nightmare from which I couldn't awaken...
