Analise has become our social butterfly. She blows kisses, waves and says "hi" to everyone we meet, and I truly do mean everyone! She loves to greet everyone in the grocery store, some people multiple times, and she usually brightens the day of our cashier. She then dutifully says "bye-bye" to everyone as we leave.
She's a very affectionate child, which we both adore! She gives her stuffed animals hugs and kisses and will give kisses to people/animals in her books. When we're playing on the floor together, she'll periodically come over and climb into my lap for a quick hug and/or kiss before going back to playing again. She has recently begun to ask for kisses. Seeing her sweet little face upturned towards mine...how beautiful! Another beautiful thing that we still do is nursing. I had always planned to nurse for just a year and then quit. Well, we're still going! We're only nursing twice a day now, but it's such a sweet thing. No matter how active she is during the day or how many times I have to discipline her (yes, she's receiving discipline now, unfortunately. She definitely knows how to throw a fit when she doesn't get her way. She also always wants a kiss after she's been disciplined!), I know that there will be a few minutes at least when she is quiet and snuggled up to me. It is a comfort to her, too, to nurse and snuggle up with me with my hair in her sweet, dimply hand.
Analise has decided that she loves the church nursery! Last Sunday, I set her on the ground so that I could fill out her card and she walked right into the nursery, up to the counter, and held up her arms so that the worker could lift her into the play area. Another Sunday, when Daniel went to pick her up, the nursery worker told him that although Analise was one of the smallest kids, she was the most feisty - she kept going up to the bigger kids and taking their toys away! We're gonna be in big trouble...
She LOVES to eat. We have had fun trying various types of fruit this summer, and I haven't found anything she doesn't like. We discovered that, among other things, she likes crepes with spinach and goat cheese. :) In fact, we have a little bit of trouble because she won't tell us when she's full. She just keeps eating (unless we cut her off, which we have learned to do) and then spits up the excess. Here she is after eating spaghetti:
This is what happens when you text and drive...
And, finally, as promised, a couple of videos of Analise's first walking experiences. I love her fat, wobbly legs!!
