10 Months!!

It's official. Analise has now been outside of me longer than she was inside of me!! It is hard to believe that she is already 10 months.
I am continually amazed at how quickly she is changing and growing. She went from being able to pull herself up to being able to "cruise" (walk while holding on to furniture), from babbling to saying her first words (more on that later), from scooping up pieces of food in her fist to picking up tiny pieces of food with her thumb and forefinger. It is so fun to watch her discover her world. She has started saying "Mama" and "Dada", which is very fun. She has one other word too (if you know me well, you can probably guess what it is): book!! She says "booh", and says it fairly consistently. She also just started being able to do the sign for "food". She can also wave "bye-bye". So much fun! Analise is such a happy baby and so expressive. She makes fabulous faces and her feet and hands dance! She still loves to dance! Anytime I play music on the stereo or piano, she'll start shimmy-ing around and dancing. She loves to pull herself up on the piano and stretch herself out to plink a couple of the keys and make music.

We had Analise's baby blessing at church back in April. It was really nice! Mike and Kristina were able to come, which was wonderful. We were really glad to have some family there for Analise's special day. A slide show was shown of all the babies, three pictures each. We used a newborn picture, her "I'm so excited it is Christmas" picture, and her "I'm so incredibly sad!!" picture, which received the best congregational response. :) Lynn Peters, our children's minister, called each family up to the front of the church one at a time and let everyone take pictures. She then read a charge to the parents (a promise that we will raise our babies to know and love God), to which we all agreed, and then a charge to the congregation (a promise that they will help us to raise our kids in Christ). After the promises, any friends or family joined us up front and prayed over us. It was a really special service. We wish that all of you could have been there!

Analise still loves being outside. We go on walks almost everyday and I often take her to the park so that she can swing. We're going camping next weekend with Dan and Marnie, so we'll see how well she does with being outside for an extended amount of time!! Here are a few pictures that we took with our spring flowers.

Here is our "Easter" picture that we took after Easter since Analise was sick for the actual day of Easter! :) We really want taking an Easter picture to become an annual tradition with our family, so we went ahead and took the picture, albeit a little late!

Our other big event recently was to fly to Searcy, AR to visit Grandmother. She said she would pay for our plane tickets, so we said "sure!". The trip didn't exactly go as planned. Analise did fabulously on the airplanes! We arrived in Little Rock fairly early on Thursday, May 14, so we went to the RiverWalk and had lunch and then just walked around for awhile with Analise in her stroller. That was really nice...Daniel and I had a chance to just relax, talk, and be with each other without normal life intruding. We then drove in a rental car to Searcy, where we discovered that Grandmother had broken her arm and was going to have surgery on Friday morning! Poor thing, it was her right arm and her entire arm was purple. In fact, when we first walked in, I thought she had some sort of strange glove on! So we spent Friday going back and forth to the hospital. Grandmother came home on Saturday, and I was able to help her fix her food, dress and undress, and carry things around the house. I spent a lot of time chasing after her and trying to make her sit down and rest her arm! Thankfully, a home health person came out and stayed with her after we left. I'm so glad that we were there to help her through all of this! We flew back on Sunday, at which point I decided to come down with a high fever and sore throat...so great for traveling! Analise did so well the whole time. She is such an easy-going baby, very portable! :) She is starting to be a little clingy to Mommy, but is still very social and happy to be held by others. Here are some pictures from our trip:
