Growing

I am amazed at how quickly Analise is growing. She had her two month appointment a couple of weeks ago and she is now at 12 pounds, almost 23 inches. She is holding her head up really well now, even while being on her tummy (which she still despises!!)...still a tiny bit wobbly, but we're almost there. Her hands open up more and she is almost grabbing at things...watch out, world!! She is alert a lot more during the day and is giving us her huge, open-mouthed, toothless grins. Daniel and I live for those smiles! She still tucks her thumb in between her fingers when she has her hands in fists. She loves to suck on her tongue, stick it out, and blow raspberries at us. She rolled over from her tummy to her back, but only once! I think it kind of scared her. :)

Analise and I went to Dallas a few weeks ago to visit her great-grandparents. She did really well on her first airplane ride! She didn't cry at all. I was so proud! :) Gram and Papa absolutely loved her, of course, and had a really good time playing with her. Aunt Gwynn came over from Abilene to meet Analise. We did have an adventure on the way home from Dallas. We had just landed in Champaign, and I was struggling to get Analise's car seat out of the airplane seat. The stewardess came...to no avail. The captain came...the co-captain came...two of the grounds crew came...a maintenance man came... How many grown men does it take to get an infant car seat out of an airplane? Five, apparently! They had to dismantle the entire airplane seat just to get her car seat out!! I just stood there, watching and thinking how ridiculous this all was. Meanwhile, poor Daniel is standing at the foot of the escalator, flowers in hand, thinking that his wife and daughter had somehow been sucked into the same vortex where lost luggage goes. The little old lady at the Hertz rent-a-center came up to him and said, "Aww, honey, did you get stood up?!" But we got home safely and after a great visit with Gram and Papa and Aunt Gwynn, so all was well.

Analise has been to her first Illini football game and her first Illini basketball. ILL...INI!!!!!!!!!!!! Grammy and Grandaddy, and Uncle Mike and Aunt Kristina had fun witnessing these life-altering events, and Mommy added to her list of "strange places I have nursed". So life is good...exhausting but always exciting! Now, for the pictures...

Her two month pictures:

You have to have some naked baby pictures in your arsenal for high school graduation and weddings!

"What, exactly, do you think you're doing with that camera?"

Hungry?
A proud Papa!A Gram in love!

Aunt Gwynn...Analise isn't too sure about her!
Where do you think you're going, child?

Check out the new hair-do!!
Poor fat little legs...she had just received her two-month shots.
Her new trick! We had to remove the beautiful bumper pad that Aunt Marnie made because when we go in to get Analise in the morning, she has turned around and moved all the way down the crib!
The smile that launched a thousand ships...or at least has charmed a thousand people!

Oh, Elizabeth! She is just too precious for words!!! And, I love the story about the car seat in the airplane! That was really funny. I'm glad Mommy and daughter had a great trip together are home safely.
Thank you for sharing the pictures - the one of her amazing smile is my favorite.

She is so cute!! She has a great gummy smile. I can't get over how much hair she has - we weren't able to do anything like that with Wendy's hair until she was about 10 months old!

I love them! She is really beautiful - thanks for sharing. I was wondering who she looked like and then I saw the picture with her cute new hairdo (on her boppy) - and realized that she has Elizabeth's eyes!!!
I would love to get together sometime - let me know when you are free :)
