Father's Day

We had a really nice Father's Day on Sunday. I think it was a little strange for Daniel to hear people wishing HIM a happy father's day, but also very fun at the same time. My Gram and Papa from Dallas have been in Illinois this weekend, staying with my parents in Springfield, so they came to our place Sunday afternoon (seeing as we're not exactly allowed to travel right now!). We had quite the full house! Mom and Dad, Gram and Papa, and then Mike and Kristina drove over from Bloomington. We talked and ate and laughed...and played our Wii!! That was one of the most fun things that evening...watching Gram learn how to bowl with the Wii. She even whomped Daniel. :) It was also highly amusing to watch Mike and Daniel box each other. One thing I've discovered with the Wii: it is MUCH more entertaining to watch the people than to watch the screen!

D and I also got to show off our house to Gram and Papa. One of the fun things about spring/summer in a new house is that we have all sorts of plant-ish surprises that are popping up all over the yard! Our most recent (and most happy) discovery is that we have all sorts of fruit trees in the back yard. 2 cherry trees, 2 peach trees, and 2 apple trees...all of which are steadily working on bearing beautiful fruit. The only problem is that we are about to do this fairly large thing called "having a baby" and I'm afraid we just won't have time to properly take care of these wonderful trees! The cherries already need to be picked, and the apples and peaches need to be thinned...so if anyone wants to come out and help, you can take home as much as you want! :)

Here are some pics from Sunday, including a better one of the nursery. Leave it to my photographer father to take an awesome picture!
