August

We've had a really busy and, as all of you know, difficult month. I've talked about the hard things elsewhere, so will just have fun showing you pictures! Enjoy!

At the end of July, Nana and Grandpa came for a visit. The girls always have so much fun with them, and Daniel and I are always glad to see them and visit with them.

Analise had just received a couple of hand-me-down games from our friends, the Jacksons, and managed to convince Nana and Grandpa to play them with her...several thousand times.

While Kristina was still in hospice care, I took the girls to Bloomington to play with Ethan at a park nearby. These first two pictures are very typical of Analise and Ethan "playing" together: Analise tries to tell him what to do and Ethan just stares at her.

Natalie had fun watching everyone.

In mid-August, we all met in Springfield to go to the State Fair.

The babies!

Dad threw his back out that morning, so Mike and Dan took turns pushing him around the fair. We all suspected, however, that as soon as we got home, Dad would stand up and do a jig.

Perhaps I should have said that we ate our way around the State Fair.

The petting zoo is always a favorite with our kids.

The end of the day and all of our babies were sleepy:

Analise, however, definitely perked up when Uncle Mike offered to treat her to a pony ride. She did really well this year and didn't throw a fit when it was time to get off!

Can it be possible?

Dad, the girls and I took an impromptu trip to Searcy.

Analise talked Great-Grandmother into playing ball with her. I was impressed.

Notice that the racket is also flying through the air!

The xylophone was a huge hit with both girls. Note Natalie in the background about to cause mayhem.

Sweet, sleepy baby!

Analise is off to preschool this year! It is hard to wrap my mind around this. We bought her a book bag and she loved it so much she refused to take it off, even to get ready for bed!

Boxes: a child's favorite toy.

First day of school!

Analise's teacher sent a few pictures of their first week.

Natalie and I had fun playing outside while Big Sister was in school. I miss Analise but am really enjoying getting some Mommy-Natalie time.
