Nesting?

I'm feeling energized by the sunny, 60 degree weather outside, but I am also feeling overwhelmed by how much I want to get done before Baby arrives. Note that I said how much I WANT to get done, not how much I NEED to get done! Daniel and I spent the weekend painting the nursery. I did the taping and prep work and Daniel did the painting. We had a friend, Kati, come over and help with the last coat on Saturday. The walls look wonderful (we went from a dark, chocolate brown to a pretty white, and the room looks and feels so much bigger!); we still have the trim and the doors to paint. Then we get to move all of Baby's things (what we have so far) back into the room and start setting up the nursery. The setting up of the nursery is really the only thing that NEEDS to be done before Baby makes her grand and much-awaited appearance. However, because A) we are living in a new (to us) house and B) it is spring outside, there is still a lot that I want to get done before Baby comes...because I know very well that if I talk about getting things done AFTER Baby arrives, I will get snorts and laughter of the type that brings milk out of one's nose from all of my mommy friends. What do I want to get done? Weeeellll....replacing the carpet for linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom, organizing the closets and throwing out anything we don't need or use, buying a bookshelf for the rest of our currently homeless books, organizing our garage, buying lawn equipment so we can take care of our yard, cleaning out flowerbeds, planting flowers, fertilizing the lawn...I could go on, but I want my husband to still love me after he reads this post. So here is my question: is this the nesting phenomenon that I have heard about from so many other moms?

Oh, it might be nesting, or it might just be spring/new house. I always have stuff like that on my list when spring arrives.

Be carefuly how much gardening you do this year - you may not feel like spending a lot of time weeding and watering once baby arrives!

Possibly. I washed and scrubbed the inside of my freezer and refrigerator before Stephen was born. But in my defense, I would love to maintain that level of clean right now, I'm just severely outnumbered. :)

Also, it's good to remember that even the nursery doesn't really NEED to be finished, since most likely she will be in your room for at least a couple months anyway. In fact (possibly to offset the whole freezer-cleaning thing), Stephen's "nursery" wasn't actually finished until he was almost three. (And the upside of that is, it wasn't necessary to re-do it the instant he wasn't a baby anymore.)

Just realized that Scott's picture will appear next to that post, which might seem strange. So no, he's not the world's first pregnant man. :) He's just the only one of us with a blog.

I think i can leave words here because my mail has been sent back again.
Our spring break was over a month ago and now most of us are a little busy now. Many of us are working hard for a further education including Jenny Irene and I:)

Okay, Mr. and Mrs. Giger, you will only truly earn your "China Alumni" status if you make "Baby" wear the split pants. That's all I gotta say. :) Love you guys!

It sure is! We moms always want to make sure everything is in order and ready for our newborn to come home to. Congrats!
